I know what you are thinking. But no, this is not a wine made out of sweat. But even so, who on earth would drink a wine called like that? Well, Slovenians have been drinking it for centuries. The taste of the wine is of course quite the opposite than the name would imply.

The origins of the name Ass Sweat Wine go back centuries. There are many stories and legends describing this legendary wine and superb wine growing area (Ass Sweat) near the town of Slovenska Bistrica, where our Wine Cellar is located. The most popular legend goes like this; people have been working really hard cultivating the vineyards on the hills around Slovenska Bistrica. In the summer they were sweating a lot and the area quickly became know as the Ass Sweat and the wine produced here Ass Sweat Wine.

Director and Oenologist of Wine Cellar Bistrica Darja Bovha says this wine has to be the wine with the most waggish name in the world. Due to its peculiar name and high quality the wine was once very popular among Slovenians. We are trying to bring this wine back to its fame and glory it deserves.

Ass Sweat Wine is a type of blended wine made of Welshriesling, Chardonnay, Rhine Riesling and Sauvignon.
